Startown Slums 15mm Scifi Terrain

Introducing our new Startown Slum range of 15mm scale scifi buildings. These are crudely improvised structures built from pieces of scrapped starships, junked landing craft, and other industrial debris. Commonplace on new colony worlds, they can also be found even on major planets in the "startown" ghetto areas surrounding major landing fields or orbital elevator downports.

The first release is a series of 5 pieces with a market bazaar feel to them. All buildings are cast in resin and have removeable roofs and detailed interiors. They also come with seperate "telescoping mast" pieces made of tube styrene. The masts can be adjusted to varying lengths for maximum variety, and rest in cradles on the main piece. They can be glued in place if desired, although they simply sit in place pretty well and could be temporarily anchored with blu-tack. Leaving them seperate will simplify transport and storage, as well as making it easier to remove the roof during play to position models inside. While we think the masts add a lot to the pieces, they are strictly optional - the cradles will support any 3/16" tube or rod, and look all right empty as well. Kitbash your own variation or leave them off entirely if you want.

A brief note about the masts, which are a bit unusual in a resin kit - these are styrene, and come in three pieces as you can see in the photo below. The overall length can be varied considerably in a telescoping fashion. The bottom-to-middle join is a bit snug, so we'll slot them together for you, although you shouldn't have any trouble sliding them after that. The top-to-middle join is much looser and will need to be glued. The top piece is wire-cored styrene and we'll leave them seperate, since "threading the needle" on them is simple enough and we don't want to risk them getting bent in transit even though they are pretty sturdy..

If you do affix the masts permanently, you may find the main roof on building #3 is a bit tricky to remove and replace. It works fine as long as you come in from the right, illustrated below:
